• Responsible for the fieldwork phase of the audit where I performed thorough tests across many areas including premiums, claims paid, journal entries, cash etc. Exercised professional judgement and scepticism to review the accuracy of the financial data by gaining sufficient evidence from the client. • During cash testing, I have gained insight into requesting confirmation letters to verify bank reconciliations provided by the client and have • Utilised Data Snipper to perform casting and mark-up of financial statements, ensuring numerical accuracy, consistency with financial statement notes and consistency with prior year financial statements. • During peak season, I had the opportunity to visit the client site to gain evidence for testing purposes more efficiently by communicating directly with the client regarding the documents that we require. This allowed me to get a better understanding of the insurance industry as well as improve my professional scepticism and analysing financial data in detail. • Conducted thorough walkthroughs to evaluate internal processes including claims, premiums, and cash handling. I employed professional scepticism to assess the effectiveness of the client’s internal controls, allowing me to identify the risks and controls and whether there are any weaknesses to these controls. This allowed me to document the findings in working papers while using flowcharts to enhance clarity.
