Devised unsupervised learning hierarchical and k-means clustering methodology using well designed features for the classification of supermarket products for use in alternative product recommendation, having gone live in under two months using SQL, python, PySpark and Azure. Built custom Power BI dashboards for patient support monitoring for various pharma clients. Retrospective analysis designed to identify profit margins for various marketing campaigns using SQL, python, PySpark and Power BI. Created mortality models for life insurance using logistic regression for explanatory purposes and long-short term memory neural networks for predictive purposes.

Healthcare centered analysis for HIV and COVID-19 epidemics. Used k-means clustering to identify areas where increased HIV testing would yield increased HIV case finding; and in combination with GIS approaches and data sources, guided the increase in HIV case finding from <5% to >22%. Used statistical modeling such as ranking and scaling followed by feature engineering, selection and hierarchical clustering to identify areas that vaccination would have the highest effect in slowing the spread of COVID-19. Deep dive analysis and routine forecasting of COVID-19 vaccination rates to guide activities for program improvement and resource allocation. Led data collection and analysis in a behavioral nudging study aimed at the increased uptake of voluntary medical male circumcision – as a preventative measure for HIV. Conducted studies using various models such as logistic and Poisson regressions, modelling disease advancement, mortality modelling for publications as a secondary outcome. Involved in predictive modeling (xgboost) study to identify individuals that would default on HIV treatment for preemptive intervention. Demonstrated to be a noteworthy, enthusiastic, supportive and effective manager, having pleasantly managed juniors and well-trained data scientists and analysts. Worked within or led international teams from countries such as Malawi and Nigeria, Zimbabwe and USA. Notably charismatic in working with clients while maintaining high team efficiency and workflows.

Data Scientist

Produced insightful HIV and COVID-19 epidemiological analyses using graph theory to identify corridors of transmission to guide observation of social distancing and other preventative measures. Automated an address geocoding process, reducing costs by a considerable 95%. Automated reports for HIV monitoring in R.
