Edinburgh Instruments | Dec 2021 - Present

Product Engineer

validation, and installation of spectroscopic instruments for scientific luminescence spectral and lifetime measurements, and Raman spectroscopy. The responsibilities also involve product development, problem-solving, servicing business trips, customer training, support, and reporting. I deepened my experimental skills and knowledge related to steady state, absorbance and lifetime (TCSPC and MCS) luminescence, visible and near- infrared PMT and avalanche detectors operation. I am also performing the quantum yield measurements on the regular basis using integrating spheres. As an engineer, I also received hand-tool and soldering skills and became fluent in optical alignment. The liquid nitrogen handling is an incredibly fun part of this job! Additionally responsible for Python software development for internal use, PyQt for UI design, and SQL. I support the program by improving and adding new modules that automate and speed up the daily routine of the Operations team. I present new updates to the users to inform them about the new updates that the program provides. Overall, this responsibility tied on the engagement with all groups within our department. So far, I took part in in-person installations and customer training in Europe: University of Calabria, Clabria, Italy; The École normale supérieure, Paris, France; Dublin City University, Dublin, Ireland.
