Technical Support Lead, Service Delivery - The Challenge Initiative

As Technical Support Lead, I provided technical assistance to the State Ministry of Health, Primary Healthcare Development Agency and other relevant department and agencies, supporting partners in the implementation of high-impact family planning and AYSRH (Adolescent and Youth Sexual Reproductive Health) interventions. This also involved working as part of the state advocacy team, to drive collective action and implement policy actions for the localization and operationalization of Service Delivery and AYSRH protocols. Furthermore, I analyzed AYSRH data to develop recommendations for program design and strategic planning following review of program implementation. I created data dashboards, graphs, visualizations, and reports for decision-making to policy makers and technocrats to improve service delivery and AYSRH. I ensured efficient supply chain management by working with the Logistics Commodity Management Unit (LMCU) to strengthen data management process and forecasting to improve coordination of commodity distribution, tracking and resupply Key Achievements: • Led a family planning and adolescent and youth sexual reproductive health (AYSRH) programme with a budget of over $1 million over four years which resulted in the increase of client volume by 600% among the general population and 1034% among young people • Promoted efficient management of resources by streamlining workplans which led to the reduction of implementation costs by 45% • Developed a funding model around existing budgeting and financing systems which improved the percentage of budgeted funds that were released from 36% to 90% • Improved the reporting rate of the LMCU from 66% to 92% and reduced the commodity stock-out rate from 42% to less than 5%

Technical Assistant - Clinical Services

In this role, I implemented monitoring and evaluation activities for the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) - funded community Anti-Retroviral Treatment/Tuberculosis project geared towards attainment of joint United Nations Programme on HIV/AID's vision. This also involved providing technical and programmatic assistance on prevention, care and treatment to USAID funded and supported sites to implement high quality care and support activities with primary focus on the clinical management and Integrated medical services. Key Achievements: • Developed and deployed an app on a non-coding platform to optimize testing yields in community screening for HIV/AIDS resulting in the proportion of clients identified increasing by 300% • Ensured data quality management and improvement measures were put in place through monthly data review meetings and quarterly Data Quality assessments (DQA) across healthcare facilities and Community Based Organizations (CBOs) • Trained and mentored over 60 health care personnel and 300 CBOs workers on the use of data capturing and reporting tools • Facilitated the installation and utilization of Electronic Medical Records (EMRs) for HIV/AIDS in 12 private facilities

As Clinical Coordinator, I provided consultations to discuss clinical needs and appropriate investigations with responsibility for overseeing daily clinical, quality improvement and administrative duties. I also supervised the formulation and implementation of a management plan following review with specialists, keeping in mind possible patient related factors. Key Achievements: • Coordinated ANC services, integrating PMTCT, family planning, maternal, reproductive, new-born and child health • Introduced a referral system for clients requiring comprehensive HIV/AIDS and tuberculosis services • Successfully expanded on-site diagnostic services to include an electrocardiogram (ECG) and ultrasound scans for hypertensive and obstetric clients, resulting in improved quality of care and a 45% increase in client volume

Key Achievements: • Successfully implemented and strengthened the referral network between peripheral health care centers and the hub (central) facility • Coordinated quality improvement meetings and the continuous medical education program on-site • Delivered effective public awareness campaigns which focused on adolescents and youths (AYP) by designing and installing Social and Behavioral Change Communication (SBCC) signs in two senior secondary schools in the local government area
