Research Analyst

- Developed statistical models utilizing predictive and descriptive modeling techniques in R. Metrics powered company's highest-revenue web tools and dashboards and served as foundational content for web articles. Created visualizations for dashboards featuring novel metrics derived from the models. - Built and maintained databases around PFSN's metrics, accelerating database entry, upload and maintenance by leveraging LLM AI engines including Perplexity and Claude. Optimized data entry and update processes in SQL, Excel, and Google Sheets that enabled PFSN to expand total NFL and CFB databases by 6x. - Researched stat packets for distribution to external clients using TruMedia, Stathead and PFSN's internal databases. Wrote NFL and NBA analysis articles in Wordpress focusing on storytelling through statistics and advanced metrics.

Senior Researcher

- Promoted to Senior Researcher in November 2019 to lead NFL and NBA sport group teams, cross-collaboration efforts with Content departments, and training programs for new hires. Assumed Analytics liaison role, connecting the development of novel metrics with potential executions on digital, linear and social platforms. - Led cross-functional content production, editing and coordination on ESPN Stats & Info's NFL and NBA leadership teams. Strategized short- and long-term content priorities, reviewed and critiqued on-air elements, and fulfilled weekly projects for show groups and digital leaders. - Organized content discussions and priorities over multiple years working on game event crews, specifically with Monday Night Football and NBA. Demonstrated adaptability and focus under pressure in time-intensive situations generating content for on-air graphics and talent reads. Production Researcher

- Promoted to Researcher in September 2018. Role transitioned from primarily data management as a Statistics Analyst II to database creation, content editing, studio show research and event research. - Developed cross-functional relationships with 100+ producers, directors and talent on studio shows to deliver compelling visual statistical treatments and enhance the information quality of the show. Primary researcher for both 11 PM SportsCenter and NFL Live for 2+ years each. Coached teammates on how to ingratiate themselves to new show groups by pitching content that played to on-air talent's strengths while protecting against blind spots. - Wrote and edited 1-2 game notes packets per week ranging from 1,000-3,000 words covering events on ESPN's family of networks. Content contained data-backed statistical storylines, including both historical research and advanced analytical angles. Distributed packets to between 50-200 ESPN clients per event, including producers, graphics producers, directors, and on-air talent.

ESPN | May 2016 - Sep 2018

Stats Analyst II

- Leveraged SQL skills for ETL processes that maintained the company's data warehouses for college football, men's college basketball and women's college basketball. Implemented quality checks for weekly in-season data uploads and managed data security integrity for clients outside of Stats & Analysis who needed access to specific elements of the data warehouses. - Produced next level analysis that went beyond the boxscore and explained why a given team or player performed the way they did during games. Worked with production research to help explain and pitch treatments to show producers and talent.
