Involves connecting networking cables, power supplies, as well commands from a terminal to test server functionality. Adding and removing various hardware components to nodes in the servers, such as DIMM memory, NIC cards, SATADOM, Solid State Drives, and Hard Drives. Complete Field Replaceable Unit (FRU) components, including DIMM, SATADOM, SSD and HDD. Debug units that have failed tests running scripts from the command line to diagnose and troubleshoot issues. Have failed hardware components replaced based on diagnostic results. Create reports to describe debug steps, and component issues.

Consultant

Specializing in a variety aspects of horticulture and horticultural education.

Oakam Nursery | Jan 2006 - Jan 2012

Horticulturist

My main responsibilities focused on horticulture work, including maintaining donor plant stock, cloning, and breeding. I am expert at determining and troubleshooting problems that can arise with plant cultivation. Including plant nutrition issues, and particularly strong at maintaining pest free plant stocks. My specialization is in solving problems that arise with organic methods. I have extensive experience in various techniques of cultivation including organic, hydroponic, and hybrid methods of both. Also, have done a lot research using various media used in cultivation. Started the plant propagation department, and was responsible for seed and new genetic hybrid development.

Horticulture Consultant

problems from nutrient deficiencies to pest problems, and ideal media selection for desired cultivation objectives. My contributions have included setting up of plant propagation programs through germination and cuttings. Also, advised in the set up requirements from propagation environments, as well as other environmental conditions ideal to plant specific growing requirements.

TiNi Alloy Co. | Jan 1997 - Jan 1998

Micro machinist

Responsibilities included fabricating micro-valves and orifice dies using micromachining techniques, such as photolithography to pattern both silicon wafers and the TiNi alloy deposited onto the silicon wafer; operation of a dicing saw and wire bonder; valve assembly and testing; valve performance evaluation, including determining leak rates using a vacuum system; collecting data on valve function and analysis using Microsoft Excel to do statistical calculations and graphs of the data; building databases with Microsoft Access; determination of project timelines with Microsoft Project.

DNAX Research Institute | Jan 1989 - Jan 1993

Scientist II

My responsibilities included routine plasmid and phage DNA isolation; maintenance and amplification of phage library stocks; transformation of frozen plasmid DNA into competent bacterial cells; restriction enzyme cloning of DNA in plasmid and phage vectors; polymerase chain reaction (PCR) amplification of DNA samples; maintenance of mammalian and insect cell cultures; protein expression using cDNA transfected COS7 mammalian and SF9 insect cell lines; isolation of organs from mice to use as a source of B and T cell clones; transplantation experiments using various mouse strains to study the effects of IL‐10 on their immune response to various challenges, such as staph endo‐ toxin; Western, Northern, Southern blot techniques using both radioactive and non‐radioactive techniques; SDS‐page gel electrophoresis; amplification of cDNA stocks; screening of cDNA and lamda phage libraries; protein dialysis; column purification of protein and DNA; presentation of data and experiments at lab meetings.

Stratagene | Jan 1987 - Jan 1989

Lab Assistant

Work duties included: isolation of recombinant plasmid and lambda phage DNA; preparation of phenol chloroform; maintain bacterial plates and phage stocks; amplification and tittering of phage stocks; minipreps of plasmid and phage DNA; production of gel electrophoresis markers; running of diagnostic gels to check purity of isolated DNA; and the determination of optimal multiplicity of infections for various phages and host cells in rich growth media.
