Postgraduate Researcher

Optimising Distributed Computing Software for Data-Intensive Research I design and implement data analysis methods and machine learning models to extract meaningful insights from the data generated by the Large Hadron Collider experiments. I collaborate with particle physics experts and develop real-time data processing solutions while mentoring junior PhD students.

PhD in Experimental Particle Physics

Conducted online and offline analysis of large datasets produced at CERN, utilizing advanced statistical methods and machine learning techniques to uncover insights and patterns in the data. Developed and implemented data analysis pipelines, and performed data visualization and interpretation to communicate findings to the team and publish papers. Led an analysis team of 8 people, overseeing their progress and providing guidance and support as needed. Coordinated and facilitated regular team meetings to discuss progress and next steps, and effectively communicated results and findings to both technical members of the experiment team and general audience. Experience working with traditional machine learning models such as decision trees, and deep learning techniques including Neural Networks models like convolutional Neural Networks and generative-adversarial Neural Networks. Assisted in the instruction of a postgraduate level Data Analysis and Machine Learning course, providing support and guidance to students on topics including data analysis, machine learning, and programming, for four years. Led tutorials, graded assignments and exams, and provided feedback to students on their work.

Summer Student - antimatter experiment

Got involved in the day-to-day work of the team at the AEgIS antimatter Experiment at CERN. Attended Collaboration meetings. Presented my work regularly. Followed summer school lectures and workshops about various aspects of modern physics, computing, data science and Machine Learning.
