I lead a team of 5 at this digital-first media company and oversee all financial collateral from budgets to payroll, forecasts, annual reports, analyse and ensure the financial health of the company by assisting the directors, GM and VP in strategic decision making. My main functions have included building a finance group at the company, proactively working with the company's shared services partner to streamline processes, improving communications, reducing reporting times, and improving reporting accuracy. Some of my notable achievements include creating a user-friendly reporting system, streamlining and simplifying the budgeting process, and developing standard financial reports using Domo. I have also implemented a forecasting method that facilitates insights into results before closing, enabling quicker closes every period. Apart from mentoring my team, I recently mentored 2 MBA students from the University of New Brunswick on a 90-day internship and mini projects.

I joined PwC as a Bank Mortgage Trainee Auditor, and was promoted to Assistant Financial Auditor within just 3 months. Initially, I audited bank mortgages to ensure loans were granted in accordance with the banks’ risk management guidelines, and provided support to real estate value estimation projects for larger and specialized industrial buildings. After being promoted, I planned and executed audits to examine and establish financial discipline for several financial institutes, banks, insurance companies, leasing firms and manufacturing companies. This role also involved leading and coaching junior team members on financial audits of international business units.
