Doctoral Researcher

Thesis Title: Characterization of the new DiRICH readout chain for the CBM/HADES RICH detectors. Doctoral project in the Ring Imaging Cherenkov Detector (RICH) group of the High Acceptance Di-Electron Spectrometer (HADES) experiment at the GSI in Darmstadt, Germany. The HADES Collaboration comprises 19 institutions from seven European nations. Tested FPGA-based readout electronics for the MAPMTs in a dedicated test setup and under a 1Gev Proton beam. Later, different statistical techniques were used to clean the data and achieve the time resolution of the detector down to 270ps FWHM. Designed experiments to investigate the impact of temperature on the dark rate of a Multi Anode Photomultiplier Tube (MAPMT) from Hamamatsu. The experiment successfully established a quantitative relationship between the dark rate and the ambient temperature, which resulted in designing a dedicated cooling system for the HADES detector.
