PHD Candidate

Played a pivotal role in developing a pipeline for automated simulation of black hole images and spectra, specifically focusing on the M87 supermassive black hole, in support of the Event Horizon Telescope (EHT) Collaboration. I honed skills akin to those of a Data Scientist, proficiently utilizing Python and Julia for advanced modelling and data analysis. My work involved tackling complex problems all while crafting compelling visualizations to convey findings effectively. Furthermore, collaboration within EHT further refined my communication and teamwork abilities.

Data Scientist

As a Data Scientist during my master's program, I specialized in Bayesian inference using the powerful tool MultiNest, significantly enhancing my statistical prowess. I leveraged these skills to develop a pipeline, resulting in several publications, which calculated the H I mass function for the nearby universe. My primary responsibilities included extracting, analyzing, and modeling extensive datasets from the South African MeerKAT radio telescope. Additionally, I served as a support scientist for the MeerKAT Neutral Hydrogen science working group, contributing to collaborative research efforts.
