Summer Research Intern

- Modelling 2D passive and active nematic liquid crystal by using the algorithm of the project supervisor. - Rendered movies from multiple simulations of flow-orientation field to qualitatively describe the active nematics and search for region of active turbulence by varying the simulation parameter. - Wrote multiple python and bash scripts to statistically characterise the active nematics by plotting correlation functions of random quantities such as vorticity, density and director field, probability density functions and statistical moments of vorticity, velocity and director field. - Analysed shapes of the probability distributions by measuring skewness and kurtosis. Removed noise from the data generated from the simulation. - Assisted in debugging the source code written in C.
