Frictionless Data for Reproducible Research Fellow

Together with other 7 early career researchers from different countries and fields of expertise, I'm working with the Open Knowledge Foundation to become a champion of the Frictionless Data tools and their use for scientific research. As a Fellow, I'm applying Frictionless tools to behavioural and neuroscience data to improve reproducible research workflows, as well as advocating for open science. Working closely with the Frictionless Data team, I will be leading training workshops at conferences, host events at universities and labs, and write blogs and other communications content.

Neuromatch Academy | Jul 2020 - Jul 2020

Teaching Assistant

Neuromatch Academy is an online summer school in computational neuroscience at scale. It’s an experiment in democratising computational neuroscience education, which recruited 1500+ students from 50+ countries. I was in charge of teaching a group of 10 students (PhD students and a postdoc). My duties included: (i) receiving teacher training by seasoned educators specialised in project-based learning; (ii) helping students from diverse backgrounds get quality education; and (ii) teaching computational neuroscience and working through hands-on coding tutorials using Google Colab;

BCBL | Mar 2018 - Jun 2020

Postdoctoral Researcher

I currently work on the neuroscience of social-cognitive processes, an emerging interdisciplinary field that aims to integrate theories, methods, and insights from psychology, social cognition, and cognitive neuroscience. This involves a variety of topics, including how the brain supports the representation of social information and how this varies across the general population. The field poses a timely area of research that exploits recent developments in pattern analysis and machine learning techniques to pinpoint how information about the world is represented in the human brain, as measured by functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI). With my research I characterize how the brain handles information that is relevant for understanding social interactions, and how this relates to inter-individual variability in psychological traits that are a defining feature of neuropsychiatric conditions such as Autism Spectrum Disorders.
