- Developed a blended finite element method for modeling multi-fluid plasmas. The finite element method is blended in the sense that the ions are discretized using a discontinuous Galerkin (DG) approach, while the electrons and electromagnetic fields use a continuous Galerkin (CG) discretization - Explicit and Implicit time integrations are implemented using PETSc - The methods and models were used to analyze species separation in ICF capsules and capsule fuel mixing - Implemented electromagnetic open boundary conditions for two-fluid plasma models into the Washington Approximate Riemann Plasma Solver (WARPX) with the goal of avoiding artificial numerical reflections

Conducted research on uncertainty quantification of computational plasma simulations. - Compared the mean and variance of three Methods (Monte Carlo, Multi-level Monte Carlo and Probabilistic Collocation) - Used the WARPX code to analyze the effects caused by parameters uncertainty and was able to quantify the uncertainty mass ratio and speed of light to thermal speed ratio had on the reconnected flux of the GEM challenge magnetic reconnection problem - The results are published in the international journal of uncertainty quantification (see publications)

Simulated the radiative cooling of a 1cm radius Argon and Xenon spheres using the HYDRA radiation-hydrodynamics code - Used the Detailed Configuration Accounting (DCA) Non-Local Thermodynamic Equilibrium (NLTE) predictions of Xe gas cooling for Inertial Confinement Fusion (ICF) relevant regimes - The DCA package was applied to the problem of dopant induced cooling of the National Ignition Facility (NIF) capsule implosions
