Ministry of Jal Shakti, Government of India | Aug 2014 - Present

Deputy Director

Deputy Director, Ministry of Jal Shakti, Government of India, 9 Years (Aug 2014 to Sept 2023). - Led the India EU Water Partnership project (Phase 1(2017-20) and Phase 2 (2020-23)), focusing on implementation of principles of EU Water Framework Directive in Indian context. Worked together with the EU Delegation, GIZ (Germany), and Indian Stakeholder states in identification of Key Water Management Issues and development of River Basin Management Plan. o Successfully coordinated and directed the project team to achieve key milestones. o Contributed to development of robust risk analysis methodologies. o Collaborated with international partners on improving sustainability and environmental impact using Geospatial Modeling and Analysis Tools. - Led the Extended Hydrological Prediction Project in India in collaboration with RTI International USA. The project is the first of its kind Early Warning System and Decision Support System incorporating advanced Modelling Techniques in statistics and AI (LSTM). o Collaborated with international agencies such as NCAR (USA), gaining a versatile approach to applications of Data Science, AI, and Machine Learning in development of forecasting models and Decision Support System. - Led the "Reassessment of Water Availability in India Using Space Inputs," project using advance remote sensing satellite data and products. Successfully executed hydrologic modeling assignments in collaboration with Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO). o Developed in-house Water Availability Assessment Desktop Application, contributing to the organization's self-reliance and Aatmanirbhar Bharat initiative.
