My position comprised two roles (Data Scientist and Manager) in support of Corporate Strategy, Customer Service and Experience, Nordstrom.com, Real Estate, and Finance organizations. Key strengths: Ability to translate business problems into data science problems. Present complex modeling results to all levels of business from technical to executive audiences. A pragmatic approach to Data Science ensuring the key business issue is addressed in a timely manner with an MVP and subsequent iterations improving the most impactful areas. DATA SCIENTIST Individual Contributor role Managed and conducted independent data science projects from project inception to methodology development and testing to product deployment. Key projects include: -- Development of a methodology (feature creation, selection, model training to estimate the likelihood of return of any product purchased at Nordstrom both in-store and online. Daily net sales MAPE of 1.5% and AUC of 0.85. Use cases include strategic evaluation of the business, testing, product anomaly detection, merchandise purchasing. Developed and deployed two Tableau dashboards (reporting and evaluation monitoring) -- Part of Strategy task force to evaluate specific markets, determine underperforming metrics, cluster analysis of customers, propensity score matching for evaluation of initiatives, blue-sky predictions of the optimal number of stores in a market. -- Time - series forecasting of sales, customer growth, acquisition, activation, retention, engagement using ARIMA models and Bayesian Structural Time Series models.

My position at Nordstrom consisted of two roles, as a Data Scientist and Manager MANAGER role Supported a team of four Data Scientists and Analysts, as well as, development of strategic goals for the team, hiring, training, evaluation, organizing learning sessions. Projects supported include customer segmentation, propensity scores of likelihood to do an event, program evaluation, customer profiling, real estate opportunities (sales forecasting and evaluation of new sites). -- Developed code snippet repository for data governance, training, and allowing for more cross-team functionality. -- Transitioned team to use of Gitlab, confluence, and AWS EC2 instances in their workflows by organizing training workshops. -- Developed interviewing and onboarding materials -- Supported exploration and implementation of additional statistical approaches
