Postgraduate Teaching Associate

In this role, I lead and support undergraduate and postgraduate seminars, create teaching materials and lesson plans, and mark summative assignments across a range of modules within the Public Health and Sports Sciences and Psychology departments of the University of Exeter.

Data Processing and Analysis Intern

Working under Dr. Amy Binner of the University of Exeter's business school, I prepared large amounts of sensitive data for statistical analysis. This project is a collaboration with Duke University researching access to rented housing across the UK.

Research Intern

In this role I worked under Dr. Joana Vieira of the University of Exeter to develop three experimental tasks to be used in her upcoming study on the impact of parenthood on threat response. To accomplish this I used Gorilla, Microsoft Excel, Apple Keynote, PsychoPy, Audacity, and GIMP, some of which I learnt how to use on the job. I also helped to create an ethics application for this same study.

Academic Mentor

I worked alongside first year undergraduates to teach them critical thinking and essay/report writing skills in addition to pastoral support. I was particularly proud when one of my mentees said he would be lost without me. In this role I worked alongside Dr. Zhao of the University of Exeter to develop materials for an online study researching the efficacy of self-compassionate journalling in helping patients with moderate depressive and anxiety disorders.

The Kings of Wessex Academy Trust | Sep 2017 - May 2018

Teaching Assistant and Paired Reader

and helping students to understand assessment feedback. This role developed my team-working, communication, 'public' speaking, and teaching skills. In a similar role working as a paired reader, I managed to increase my mentee's reading age up to a level acceptable for taking GCSEs.
