Research Intern

The lab of Rik Lindeboom investigates proteomics of clinical FFPE tumor samples utilizing Mass Spectrometry by the high-resolution, accurate mass (HRAM) instrument platform, consisting of both an Orbitrap and the innovative HRAM Asymmetric Track Lossless (Astral) analyzer. I designed and optimized a high-throughput preparation workflow for mass spectrometry and and several R scripts to process and analyze the proteomics data extracted from the mass spectrometer. Currently, these workflows are the standard in the Lindeboom lab.

HIV & SARS-CoV-2 research: The Valente lab focuses on drug discovery of HIV latency-promoting agents to further the research toward a functional cure to HIV based on the Block-and-lock strategy. Additionally, the group concentrates on SARS-CoV-2 drug discovery. My aim was to confirm the latency-promoting potential of seven targets by a long-term study in Jurkat cells carrying a latent HIV provirus.
