My focus is on ensuring responsible AI development, backed by rigorous risk identification, mitigation, and adherence to human rights and ethical AI principles. Responsibilities: Risk Management in AI: Identify and prioritise AI system risks, developing mitigation plans and monitoring for emerging threats. I also work on bridging existing security engineering practices to the evolving field of AI security engineering. Ethical AI and Compliance: I will conduct Algorithmic Audits and Impact Assessments, ensuring our AI aligns with ethical standards and human rights. Model Governance and Safety: I aim to utilise tools like SMACTR and ALTAI for safety checklists and model cards, enhancing AI transparency and safety. Building Trust in AI: Focus on Justified Confidence and Trust through rigorous risk assessment methods and ethical AI practices. My role is to navigate AI development responsibly, balancing technological advancements with safety and ethical integrity. As an advising security expert in a Telstra business unit creating AI/ML, I aim to foster robust, trustworthy AI systems in line with organisational values and societal norms. My approach is not building AI but providing crucial guidance and assurance to ensure secure, ethical AI applications.
