Amazon Web Services (AWS) | Feb 2022 - Jun 2023

Software Development Engineer

Utilizing AWS Services to vend forecasts that could be ingested, scrum leader in the Agile process, quickly solving issues while on call, interface with other teams and customers, create design documents for new service implementation that required sign off by upper management, and mentoring new hires. • Solely responsible for designing and implementing a process to automate back testing and verification of the scientists team’s models through the usage of Python, Pandas, PostgreSQL and internal services. Reduced the time involvement of a scientist from over 20 hours per back test to less than 30 minutes. • Worked within a small team to create a serverless service, using Java and Typescript, that aggregates and pools forecasts from EC2, EBS and S3 into a single forecast that is vended to the infrastructure and planning team for purchasing new hardware. This service reduced the expenditure on server racks and components by approximately 5%, saving millions of dollars each year. • Led the root cause analysis of overcalculation of “unmet” EC2 instances causing an overstated usage. The find and fix reduced the demand by approximately four times. • Designed a process to vend data saved in CSV format from the services’ S3 buckets to parquet format in Redshift so customers would be able to access the data to perform independent analysis, which allowed the customer for the first time to review their data.

Frontier Oil Tools | Aug 2019 - Mar 2022

Engineering Manager

Managed six employees, managed a multi-million-dollar budget, designed and tested completions equipment, interfaced with customers from around the world, managed utilization of personnel and resources, performed design reviews, approved designs/drawings/calculations/test reports. • Created a program using the open-source package Pandas to process and clean validation and verification data for better utilization of resources. • Created a Python program to acquire all existing files from the current engineering repository to upload to a new repository, saving time and approximately $50,000 • Managed two engineers, a drafter and a designer in the development and testing of six liner hanger and packer assemblies within six months, which typically take a year per liner hanger or packer

Frontier Oil Tools | Feb 2018 - Aug 2019

Senior Mechanical Engineer

Designed and tested liner top packers, hangers, interfaced with customers, mentored, performed calculations, reviewed drawings, sustained product offerings, managed projects from conception to completion, provided sales and field technical support, developed novel designs. • Created a standardized Python program with a user interface and SQLite database that produced technical sheets for customers, which improved accuracy by approximately 50% and reduced time to customer from days to an hour. • Developed new calculators for the design of all molded packing elements and running equipment, including packer setting dog sub, hydraulic running tool, and retrievable cement bushing • Designed a new running string in less than two months, reducing cost and machining time by approximately 45%

Schlumberger | Jan 2017 - Feb 2018

Liner Hanger Rapid Response Engineering Manager

Secured funding through specialty projects, accountable for the execution of deliverables to negotiated contracts, quoted engineering lead time and cost for all projects, managed two engineers in Houston, three engineers in Mexico, and two contractors in India, designed liner systems on an expedited time frame, performed testing, created reports, budgeted for personnel and material costs, resource management. · Executed the first liner hanger research and development engineering department at the only manufacturing facility in Mexico; managed and trained three non-U.S. engineers for new non-trivial designs to expand the product line · Generated capital and managed multi-million-dollar novel projects for international customers- including Saudi Aramco that was estimated to produce over $2 million in revenue each year for the company · Improved the time to market by creating new calculators and processes for engineering projects, reducing the time from over a year to less than six months and allowing the sales team to win tenders

Smith Services, a Schlumberger Company | Dec 2012 - Jan 2017

Mechanical Engineer

Designed and validated/verified testing of liner hangers, liner top packers, and running equipment. Approved drawings from other engineers, reviewed and dispositioned non-conformance reports (NCRs), performed failure analysis for the field, created calculators, mentored junior and new hire engineers, oversaw sustaining engineers in Mexico and China · Worked as the sole subject matter expert in the Liner Hanger Product group, overseeing the engineering of liner hangers, liner top packers, tieback receptacles, running tools, pump down plugs and liner wiper plugs · Designed a new liner hanger slip that increased hanging capacity approximately 25%, reducing production and material cost

Microtesla Magnetic Field Effects | Feb 2010 - Dec 2012

Mechanical Engineer

Designed and tested chassis for directional sensors, performed finite element analysis (FEA) using Solidworks, supported manufacturing and the field, worked with other engineering disciplines, implemented new testing and manufacturing processes · Developed a novel C program that applied constant pressure to the winding core using Microchip’s PIC microcontroller, reducing scrap costs and improving reliability · Conducted FEA to identify problematic areas and design improvements, leading to a new chassis design that reduced the cost of the mechanical components by 50%, reduced assembly time by 61% and increased the strength of the system while reducing component quantity
