My Work Experience

Where I've interned and worked during my career.

Jet Linx | May 2022 - Present

Safety Specialist

During my aviation degree program, I obtained an internship at Jet Linx as a safety specialist. Currently, I am transitioning into a role as a safety analyst. Originally, I was a professional flight major and currently hold a private and instrument pilot's license. This fall, I will also obtain my dispatch license. During my internship, I discovered my enjoyment of data analysis. We analyze data from various sources, including fatigue reports, Aviation Safety Action Program reports, Line Operations Safety Assessments, monthly base safety assessments, and flight operations quality assurance. At home, I use Excel for many things, such as workout tracking, recipes, and meal planning. I have also used Excel as a key manager at a restaurant to close the store. However, I found Excel to be somewhat restrictive when it comes to the data we are analyzing in my current position as a safety specialist. I sought out new and improved methods of data analysis and discovered that there are many different ways to do it. I enjoy learning new things and I am really enjoying the advanced methods of data analysis. It is much more satisfying than using Excel. Although I wanted to be a pilot for a while, I believe that my true passion is working with data. I will continue flying for fun, but my career path will be in data analytics or even data science.

Server

I greeted all my tables with a smile and an enthusiastic attitude. I knew my drinks and my menu and offered recommendations and answers to any of the guests questions. I handled my own money, ran food, and bussed tables. I encouraged my guests to feel welcome and have conversations so they could have a better experience when dining. I made sure everything was to their liking and if it wasn't I was able to handle it and fix it right away.

I seat guests upon arrival and make sure their needs are met. I make sure to use their name and know if they have any special occasion so I can address it as soon as they come in.

Childcare Provider

I worked before and after school with children between kindergarten and sixth grade. We had breakfast every morning and snacks every afternoon. We offered crafts and the gym everyday. My coworkers and I took turns in the gym and offered to play games with the children. I helped with homework, played dodge ball, and had "fun Friday" every Friday with music. I am CPR certified and took first aid classes. I know how to administer an EPI pen and help with an inhaler if needed. It was 12 kids per teacher. I created bonds that I will never forget.
