Data Analyst

Worked as a data analyst for the Sales Operation function of the New Zealand Go-To-Market team. Carried out a migration of PostgreSQL scripts to a new modern platform. The new platform consisted of a Snowflake Datawarehouse, which used GitHub to store the code and DBT to execute it with Prefect 2.0 being the scheduling tool. The resulting datasets were pulled into MicroStrategy where they could be used by members of the sales team and others to gain insight into customers. Migrated successfully without any interruption of service. I developed new datasets which gave enhanced insights into product usage which allowed the sales team to inform customer of unlocked product potential and the benefits that it could bring. Some of the datasets were developed by extracting insights for click event data and the users interactions. Worked with sales and product specialists to develop a weighted feature score for certain products to indicate when a customer my benefit more from different product mixes. Imported Salesforce location data into key dashboards so to give a visual indication of the distribution of Xero partners across New Zealand. This will be used to organize road trips across New Zealand to provide in-person training and enhance customer engagement. The dashboard will also be used to plan large Xero events and will approximate the amount of Xero partners in an area. Work on a multi-nation team to future expand the usage of the e-Invoicing feature, helping approx. 100000 business get added to the PEPPOL network across New Zealand and Australia. This project received great praise from the New Zealand Ministry of Business, Innovation & Employment and the Australian Taxation Office. I developed a user friendly Microsoft Excel VBA macro which allowed accounting practices to easily convert APS files to Xero compatible files for upload.

Responsible for reviewing deployment documentation prepared by other team members and verify that the correct procedure and signoffs obtained. Carry out code reviews to confirm modified test code is at required standards. Approve reviewed code and changes once all requirements are meet from both a business and technical view point. Was on a recent interview panel. Interviewing potential new hires and preparing a brief write up on the candidate. I prepared group presentations where I would outline testing approaches to recent joiners so they would be able to test changes carried out by colleague to confirm that they were carried out correctly.

Jira – Issue management and agile project tool. Confluence – Used to capture deployment documentation and process document. Remedy BMC – Used in the deployment process to assign tasks across multiple teams and collect approvals. Apply changes to existing data processes based on changing business environments. Build new data processes to meet new regulatory requirements. Work with multiple teams both business and technical teams. Work on the acquisition of new data sources and the consumption of resulting data by downstream business users. Carry out downstream impact assessments to see if there would be any negative impact of requested change. Train new joiners on our team. Using one to one screenshare sessions going through the technology and processes used.
