Manager - Investigative Analytics

As the Investigative Analytics Manager, I had the privilege of leading a team of 4 Senior Data Analysts who provided analytics and technology support to over 1,200 Asset Protection directors, managers, and professionals across The Home Depot's US stores. While in this role, the team achieved the following: - Developed first effective line-item refunds reporting, helping the company save a projected $26 million annually on fraudulent or abusive refunds - Created a first-of-kind fraud investigation application giving Asset Protection teams an unprecedented level of data access to support store credit fraud investigations in partnership with IT developers - Transitioned over 90 reporting processes and dashboards from Teradata as part of a migration to a Google Cloud Platform environment. The team also supported the company's overall migration to this environment by conducting User Acceptance Testing, providing feedback that ensured critical data elements were available to support stakeholders - Oversaw the transition of over 90 light SQL users to Google BigQuery through the creation of resources, training documents, and webinars

Senior Data Analyst - Asset Protection

As the principle Tableau Developer for the Investigative Analytics team, I created and maintained Tableau Server pages of several dashboards for up to 90 users, leading to the identification of over $260,000 in loss cases. I also completed over 1,500 data requests, using SQL and dashboards to contribute to the identification and development of the department’s $13+ million in internal and external theft investigations. I also worked to streamline the team’s request management system with the assessment and implementation of Zendesk to manager over 12,000 annual requests by 14 coordinators and analysts. As part of the company’s transition from Teradata to using the Google Cloud Platform, I helped our four analyst team by translating over 45% of the team’s queries and processes to Google BigQuery. Additionally, I served as project coach where I mentored the team’s first Intern Analyst on a project using R and Python to apply a predictive model to a form of internal theft, achieving up to 80% accuracy. Finally, as a member of the 2018 Voice of the Associate Committee, I managed the implementation of the Pacer fitness app aimed at promoting health and wellness for a 160+ associate department by tracking and reporting associate step challenge progress.

Asset Protection Business Analyst

As part of a newly created analytics team, I was the principal reporting analyst responsible for completing ad hoc reports to support six investigations teams and field asset protection managers across The Home Depot’s US stores. This reporting (over 2,500 ad hoc data requests completed using SQL) contributed to the identifying and development of over $1.5 million in loss investigations. Additionally, I introduced the department to interactive dashboards, visually translating investigative intuition to data in order to aid in the tracking and presentation of investigations. I also automated the majority of the theft transaction alerts process, resulting in an up to 80% weekly time savings.

As the first Security Manager at Georgia United Credit Union, I conducted a top-down assessment of security practices at the corporate headquarters and the organization’s 18 branches. My duties of managing the company’s security program included driving relationships with various vendors who provided access control, camera surveillance, alarm, and guard services. Some of my accomplishments include conceptualizing and implementing an access control badge upgrade that resulted in the issuing of photo identification access badges to over 200 employees as well as the reduction of false alarm costs by at least 25%.

Military Police Investigator

As an patrol supervisor I provided direct supervision for 9 officers in an investigation unit and responsible for maintaining the integrity and quality control for 900+ police reports. During my tenure with the military I analyzed police report data for crime trends to develop crime prevention strategies, processed evidence with 100% accuracy, facilitated extensive law enforcement training for groups of 90 military and civilian officers, trained 220+ soldiers in firearm operations. As a supervisor I managed scheduling and rotation shifts for 13 officers with a military base community of 98,000+ residents.
