Data Scientist

Analyzed nationwide driving patterns using data from 50,000 connected cars. Leveraged six key metrics, including sinuosity and angular deviation, to quantify travel efficiency across 1.2M+ journeys. Engineered a data processing framework for a GPS dataset (400M+ data points), implementing a k-means clustering algorithm that identified four distinct trip types and revealed key spatiotemporal patterns in urban and rural navigation. Led the development of a standardized retail food database for loose fruit and vegetables, transforming unstructured data from 4 sources (including McCance and Widdowson's Composition of Foods) into a machine-readable format covering 2,887 products across 14 food groups. Built a Python solution (PyPDF2, Regular Expressions) to convert 100+ pages of PDFs to structured CSV data and developed text-matching algorithms, transforming time-intensive manual extraction into an accessible, standardized database for retailers and researchers.
