Founded in 2013, Aurora is already Europe and Australians largest supplier of power market analytics and is rapidly expanding into other markets. • Technical lead on a project integrating international workflows into current EU software, focusing on building in capacity for further scaling in future. Exercised organisational skills to delegate effectively and meet deadlines. • Collaboratively converted an Excel process to Python, utilising OOP, Pandas, SQL and Git. An OOP framework allowed for a single process with increased flexibility, covering all regions and nations and their intricacies. Increased robustness with automated checks and ensured quality code by methodical documentation to facilitate future improvements.

Actuarial Intern

• Developed a process that affects £5.3 billion worth of With-Profits policies using VBA coding in Excel. This required implementing and refactoring my own macros in addition to developing existing code and constructing automated checks. • Directed a group of my peers in launching, evaluating and systematically improving a social experiment in which 63% of participants said their wellbeing improved. • Individually contacted and successfully presented to Lloyd’s Chief Actuary to advocate for a social experiment I had headed. Consequently, collaborated with senior management to ensure the continuation of the project after the end of my internship.

• Applied scientific judgement and undergraduate knowledge to establish the best approach in determining absolute absorbances from nondispersive infrared spectra (NDIR), identifying parameters, methods and associated errors. • Pioneered a new approach to spectral analysis by self-teaching database communication in Python, allowing me to interact with HITRAN’s online database and perform complex calculations on spectra in a more efficient way. • Contributed to production and coordinated publication of scientific application notes and white papers on NDIR.

• Devised and adapted an independent project to assess water’s suitability as an analogue for liquid aluminium, applying specific scientific knowledge on equilibria to evaluate variables affecting mixing and degassing kinetics. • Mathematically analysed results to determine the order of kinetics observed and summarised my findings in a report evaluating the credibility of my conclusions.
