Mechanical Design Engineer

Mechanical and industrial design of outdoor wireless products (3Ghz , 5Ghz, Dual Band etc) taking into consideration thermals, RF isolation, antenna signal optimization, IP67 rating and outdoor weather durability. Preparing detailed CAD drawings of components, subassemblies and overall assemblies following GD&T. Designing sheet metal, machined or 3D printed prototypes and testing with Digital and RF team before proceeding to die casted or injection molded tooling. Interfacing with manufacturing companies and vendors to obtain quotes and discuss design feasibility (DFM). Supporting product assembly, testing, troubleshooting and assisting in preparation of the assembly procedures.

CIARA Technologies | Dec 2017 - Aug 2019

Mechanical Engineer

• Designed CIARA's HF 310 G4 server from concept to prototype until mass production. (https://ciaratech.com/products/servers/orion-hf/) • Researching and designing server chassis enclosure, electrical component brackets, server and rack accessories, camera box enclosures while taking into consideration thermals, EMI shielding, stress, tooling costs and ease of assembly. • Designing parts that require sheet metal bending, 3D printing, injection molding, and vacuum forming processes. • Performing thermal analysis, airflow and stress simulations in Solidworks to validate and justify server designs. • Designing custom cables by selecting appropriate connectors, cable gauge and crimps and preparing 2D drawings. • Physically validating the server prototype and running thermal tests in thermal chamber to eliminate hot spots. • Led the design of the first composite injection molded 1U server chassis of CIARA. • Preparing 2D drawings, bill of materials, assembly procedures, user manuals for the product. • Managing and controlling BOM (purchased parts and raw manufactured materials) to reflect product design changes or product manager requests. • Designed a water resistant IP 66 aluminum camera box enclosure for school buses. • Undertook PDM training and following PDM work flow for all design files as established by the manager.

Plant Engineer Co-op

• Reduced sugar waste in plant using lean tools such as 12 step Kaizen, Root cause Analysis (RCA), Ishikawa analysis and 5S on candy tumbler production lines as a part of the Continuous Improvement (CI) team. • Developed plan, budget and cost for 3 Business capital projects as a Project Manager and executed them. • Designed and installed a new steam distribution line to improve condensate removal. • Installed an infrared sensor to detect candy flow and created programming logic to control level of sugar. • Designed and installed an air spray header to push steam away from sugar drum. • Managed the Plant’s total candy and sugar scrap reports in Excel and extracted useful information and patterns.

• Troubleshooting and tech support for McGill staff & students for telephony, hardware/ software, wireless etc. • Receiving inquiries and service requests from end users, and recording all relevant information on the first contact. • Provide initial assessment (determine urgency, prioritize incidents), and attempt to resolve users' issues. • Escalate issues to appropriate second or third tier support if necessary; refer users to appropriate departments.

Research Assistant at CIM McGill

• Researched on a 3-leg flight simulator (a patented project), designed the prototype on Solidworks, researched and found suitable off the shelf components for optimal functionality. Used finite element analysis for stress analysis • Designed a Dual-Wheel gear transmission system consisting of multiple planetary gears and generated a CAD prototype.

Summer Intern

Retail Banking Department Provided constant customer service for whole working day - Dealt with customer's cheques - Explained the banking services to new customers and provide solutions to various customer problems - Used Microsoft Excel to find customer's pre ordered cheque books and added new orders Cheques Department - Processed cheques submitted by customers Foreign Exchange Department - Resposible for updating all the Bill of Ladings (BOL) in a record book
