Served as an intern in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) at Indiana University-Purdue University in Indianapolis. Conducted research on energy efficiency in computation of large integers and how such energy savings impact cryptographic systems like RSA. Analyzed various long integer multipliers from literature review of journal articles. Programmed functions for testing various multipliers and test benches in C/C+ +. Presented research findings at weekly progress meetings with other REU students in preparation for a final poster presentation.

Served as an intern in the Department of Computer and Information Science and Engineering (CISE) at the University of Florida. Conducted research at Florida Institute for Cybersecurity (FICS) lab pertaining to online financial fraud structural patterns in Ponzi scheme networks and how this affects information security. Analyzed various literature about Ponzi schemes and configured profile of a characteristic Ponzi scheme website based on traits gathered from such collected fraudulent websites. Implemented web crawler program through a pipeline of Python programming to scour the Internet for sites to test Ponzi scheme site identifier on a small scale. Organized retrieved data into spreadsheets using Microsoft Excel library in Python programming.
