Senior Performance Manager

Key responsibilities • Providing actionable recommendations to senior leaders by understanding strategic business objectives, analysing performance data, generating insights and presenting back in non-technical language. • Creating easy-to-digest reporting to be leveraged for management decisions & regulatory reporting. • Acting as a translator between data groups and non-technical audiences – improving understanding of the business in former group and enhancing data literacy in latter group. Key projects • Designed & built a self-serve KPI dashboard using SQL which cut time spent on reporting by ~3 days a fortnight; worked closely with senior business partners to ensure needs were met & reporting was valuable. • Collaboratively led development of 100+ standardised Jira task tickets; required understanding of both technical and non-technical tasks. Enabled a consistent & more efficient way of working.

Key projects • Segmented customers using RFM methodology and created insights to optimise marketing spend. • Applied results of A/B testing to create campaigns which typically produced a 3%+ uplift on Control.

Key responsibilities • Marketing campaign builds including understanding internal client objectives, campaign reporting & recommendations. Campaign build and reporting involved a mix of IBM Unica, IBM Watson and SQL. • Mentoring junior team members to enhance capabilities of the team. Key projects • Provided thought leadership on customer communication journeys for the 3+ million loyalty member base. These automated journeys were developed to meet our strategic objective to engage members earlier.

Key responsibilities • Managing the analytics workflow process. This included prioritization of analytics requests, resource allocation & workload management, external vendor management and budget management. • Leading and/or supporting strategic data projects including the creation of a data lake, customer segmentation and the development of a CLV metric. • Working with marketing managers to design campaign tests & using insights to inform campaign builds. Key projects • Developed standardised self-serve campaign reporting using SQL & Tableau. This streamlined the process from 2 days per report to 4 hours and increased data literacy in the company. • Created member acquisition & engagement forecasting model which was accurate to within 1 month and provided greater confidence in financial projections. • Cut external analytics vendor costs by 50%, using data to support negotiations.

Key responsibilities • End-to-end management of analytics projects for the Private & Platforms marketing team. • Coaching members of the team in analytics processes and SQL. Key projects • Deep dive into why customers were redeeming platform products, a multi-million-dollar financial risk. • Created Private wealth customer segmentation to determine appropriate treatment for customer groups e.g. migration out of Private service. Allowed for a manageable book of Private wealth customers.

Presentations focused on telling a story with the data. • Sourcing, extracting, and manipulating data using SQL, SAS & Excel. Key project • Optimised the credit card Risk Based Pricing (RBP) model. Overall reduction in run time was from 9 hours to less than 1 hour.
