Energy Management Chief Engineer

Outline Monitoring the daily energy consumption of the refinery and petrochemicals, economic calculations of the fuels that can be consumed, evaluation of possible alternative fuels, and follow-up of energy projects Key Responsibilities • Daily, monthly, and annual energy consumption tracking and forecasting across the Petrochemical and Refinery • Supplying ISO 50001 Energy Management System requirements and following up on the system • Energy efficiency, optimization, and waste heat recovery projects throughout the Petrochemical and Refinery • To ensure the consumption of profitable fuels of petrochemicals and refineries by evaluating possible alternative fuels Key Achievements • Reducing daily time wastage by automating data processing of daily energy usage tracking using Excel Power Query • Creation of data-based target system by determining annual and monthly targets of regression analysis of energy unit consumption of factories and units • With the regression analysis, daily and monthly natural gas forecasts were prepared with excel, and more accurate forecasts were given to the Gas Business Unit, resulting in a 10% savings in the amount of natural gas purchased from the possible spot market with a high price.

Outline Developing plastic compound products, changing the properties of existing Polypropylene and polyethylene products according to market demand, and conducting plastic sustainability projects Key Responsibilities • Developing and transferring masterbatches and compounds that can be sold to the market suitable for polyethylene and polypropylene product types • Developing sustainability projects • To reduce costs with equivalent product projects Key Achievements • By examining the escape reaction data in low-density polyethylene (LDPE) reactions in autoclave reactors with machine learning, the project found suitable for patent application has emerged. • 3 masterbatch formula types prepared with LDPE and 1 product type for extrusion coating are ready for sale. • As part of the sustainability project, a technology development project was initiated with the Middle East Technical University (METU) for the production of raw materials suitable for petrochemical or refinery input from polymer wastes. • With the work of equivalent additives, an annual profit of 450,000 USD was achieved
