Systems Administrator

• Attend calls assigned by the service desk timeously and provide updates until resolution. • Escalate issues correctly and timeously. • Design and implement new solutions and improve resilience of the current environment both internally and for ICL Botswana customers. • Set up accounts and workstations. • Troubleshoot issues and outages. • Ensure security through access controls, backups and firewalls. • Upgrade systems with latest stable firmware releases and models. • Develop expertise to train staff on new technologies. • Build knowledge articles with technical documentation, manuals and IT policies. • Monitoring system performance to ensure everything runs smoothly and securely and according to requirements. • Configuring and maintaining the networked computer system, including hardware, system software, and applications. • Secure network systems by establishing and enforcing policies and defining and monitoring access. • Report network, server and end user devices operational status on a weekly, monthly and yearly basis. • Troubleshoot hardware and software errors by running diagnostics, documenting problems and resolutions, prioritizing problems, and assessing impact of issues. • Provide documentation and technical specifications for planning and implementing new or upgrades of IT infrastructure for both the internal and ICL Botswana customers. • Liaise with project management teams, service desk analysts and senior System Administrators on a regular basis. • Researching and recommending new approaches to improve the networked computer systems. • Documenting any processes which employees need to follow to successfully work with the company’s computing systems.

• Installing and configuring windows server 2016 • Monitor resources and provision servers on Hyper-V • Performing server checkups daily to ensure that all services for the everyday applications are running. • Installing and configuring software’s for users daily • Troubleshooting and configuring network and hardware devices. • Migrating users to office 365 • Office 365 administration • Total control of the active directory. • Source out spares for ATM’s and IT equipment and prepare quotations. • Act as a single point of contact for phone calls and emails from staff regarding IT issues and queries. • Receiving, logging and managing calls from internal staff via telephone and email. • 1st and 2nd line support - troubleshooting of IT related problems from in-house software to hardware, such as Laptops, PCs and Printers. • Troubleshoot basic network issues • Escalate unresolved calls to the infrastructure support team • Log all calls in the Service Desk Call Logging system • Provide stats for the weekly Service Desk report on call trends • Collaborate with other departments to identify and implement new technologies to improve business processes • Manage the organization's IT assets and inventory
