Senior Numerical Specialist

I collaboratively work on bespoke tools such as software, ML/AI and quantum algorithms to solve business critical problems in diverse areas such as engineering, asset portfolio management, integrated energy systems, etc. This has included: • Developing production code (Python) for risk-based design of export cables using stochastic modelling and interference, and Monte Carlo simulations. • Leading and managing Ørsted's part in the DanQ project (aiming to build Denmark's first quantum computer) by analysing and providing business critical use cases to the project collaborators (Kvantify, University of Copenhagen). • Applying LLM models and frameworks (OpenAI, Langchain) to facilitate business analysis of asset portfolio optimisation model outputs for non-technical users.

Numerical Specialist

I work across teams and roles within them to build and deliver advanced models using bespoke means such as software, ML/AI and quantum algorithms to solve business critical problems. This has included: • managing a project with external collaborators to use quantum computing to optimise integrated energy systems to incorporate stochasticity (e.g. using stochastic optimal control theory) and non-linearity into existing models • implementing a dynamic model for monitoring export cables using analytical tools (partial differential equations) and numerical optimisation, wrapped in a Python package, to provide customised real-time analysis of the thermal condition of the cables for clients.
