• Implemented sparse regression algorithm (SINDy) to identify governing equations in MATLAB, and added cross-validation routine to combat over- fitting • Enabled robustness to 3 orders of magnitude higher noise corruption and missing variable observations for sparse regression with custom pre-processing procedure • Increased interpretability of symbolic regression output by exploiting available system knowledge • Identified a governing equation for experimental extended data for the first time, where competing symbolic regression methods fail completely due to noise corruption • Invoked manuscript & codebase version control through Apache Subversion • Authored 3 papers published in peer-reviewed journals (one currently under review) and presented research at 2 conferences
