Technical Director

Percontor is a Sweden based IT company basing their offerings on Experiential Design, delivering their solutions mostly in Drupal. I would also maintain communication with clients about their projects including data analysis of improvements made to their websites during the projects showing the measurable performance changes. As Technical Director in Percontor I was responsible for the whole IT architecture of the company.

The last contract was as a Lead Technical Trainer for Zenos delivering Advanced Diploma, Microsoft MCDST and MCSA, CompTIA A+ and Network + and Cisco courses to a range of clients including 16-19 years olds as well as commercial training. In this role it is necessary to review training material, monitor students’ progress, support students in additional learning, and produce additional training material and resources as required and manage the centre and the centre administrator. I also have a part time contract with Merton College as a lecturer on the Foundation Degree specialising in Microsoft and Cisco Networking but covering across the range of technical or academic courses. Prior to my current role I worked in a support role for Carnival Cruises, part of the P&O group working with Dell, Compaq and IBM servers and Avaya IP Telephony Systems providing day to day user and network support. This involved the coordination across three different companies and their associated helpdesks in Italy, UK and USA.

The responsibilities of this role are to manage the Level 3 and 4 IT courses offered at the college. This includes a collaborative foundation degree course with Kingston University as part of an NTI with several other South London colleges. My responsibilities include development and delivery of course material on the level 3 and 4 programmes as well as co-ordinating the teaching teams. I also have specific responsibility for the delivery and coordination of the CCNA curriculum across all programmes and part time courses. I have additional responsibilities to assist in the line management of some full time and agency staff members. I have achieved several qualifications in this role including the Cisco CCNA qualifications and the City and Guilds 7407 stage 3. As part of my role I act as a product specialist for all areas of networking, hardware and software and as part of this I produce most of the training material for this and also advise the Level 1 and 2 in this area.

As one of the most experienced consultants I was also strongly involved with the development and delivery of a range of technical courses delivered to both internal and external customers. 1997-1998 Research Machines Abingdon, Oxfordshire Senior Netware Support Consultant In this role I was responsible for running the NetWare support team. This was a small team and included contractors to provided additional support resources. I was involved with their recruitment and was directly responsible for their day-to-day activities. The role involved supporting customers with NetWare networks as well as customers with mixed NT and NetWare networks as well as the installation, configuration, and support of the “Internet for Learning” internet service. During this time I also developed and delivered training to other support teams to enhance understanding of NetWare and mixed environments. 1995-1997 Research Machines Abingdon, Oxfordshire PC Support Consultant This role was to provide telephone technical support for PC’s and Internet connections. As an additional role with in this was to provide the scheduling of the resources for the hotline. This included coordinating and approving holidays for the members of the team. For the last year of this position I was seconded to the development department as a technical author.
