Promoted to engineer growth across the entire company by embedding financial services products and accelerating the growth of an underutilized asset, the Pitney Bowes Bank, and the Global Financial Services business unit. Sustainable Growth Engineer  Facilitated and developed the strategic plan, approved by senior management and Board of Directors, to take the nascent business and develop a multi-million dollar business unit. After 5 years, Global Financial Services operated in 30 countries, generated double-digit growth, managed over 1 million unique customer accounts, a $4.0B lease and loan portfolio, close to $600 million in customer deposits at the PB Bank, generated more than $800 million in revenue annually, more than $300 million in free cash flow, and provided more than 60% of PBI’s overall EBIT.  Thourgh partnerships and alliances expanded the use of the PB Bank into other mailstream related segments enabling new ongoing revenue streams that generated $300 million of new deposits, $200 million of new transaction revenue, and doubled share of wallet, deepening the relationships with customers.

Vice President, Strategic Marketing, Product Development, & Marketing Science

Promoted to help the financial services line of business use intelligence to identify, develop, and launch new global products. Managed a staff of 12 and developed and implemented new business intelligence methods to increase insights to achieve the following: Revenue Generating Accomplishments through Advanced Insight  Using tactical mapping techniques identified an opportunity to enter an emerging segment, Remote Deposit. Created ClickDeposit (www.pitneyworks.com/clickdeposit/) through a partnership with Jack Henry for check processing and Panini for scanning equipment. Partnership was seen as ground breaking in the industry and received an overwhelming response from banks and merchants. Brought on initial clients while the product was in incubation to prove the business model and product was successfully launched into the line of business.  Developed the partnership and alliance strategy for international expansion. Successfully launched private label payment products to existing customers in the United Kingdom and Republic of Ireland. Achieved penetration rates of 70% in the UK and 87% in ROI.  Developed and launched Total Postage Management Service (www.totalpostagemanagement.com), the only mailstream ERP system. Added $50 million in incremental postage throughput, over $2 million in revenue and displaced over 600 competitive meters. Transformed the way the PB sells by creating a solutions sales tool.  Created a limited access small business credit card and rewards program to penetrate a segment of the market still using checks and petty cash for business related purchases. Introduced the Purchase Power Visa Card in 2005. Processed in excess of $100 million annually and issued in excess of $2 Billion points.

Brought in to identify “white space” opportunities in information businesses and launch new initiatives that would generate $50 million in annual revenue. New to World Initiatives Generate Revenues  Developed and patented an air cargo security system. Identified strategic partners and worked with local and regional shippers as well as the state and federal government to establish the protocol. Helped develop Air Cargo Task Force and Lab at Pittsburgh International Airport. Received Patent: Method for Securing Cargo Delivery.  Created the PB Innovation Fund for employees to submit and develop ideas. Awarded $1 million in development money to individuals to evaluate and develop their ideas. Over a 12 month period evaluated 250 ideas, funded 15 for development, and 2 were launched into existing lines of business.

Hired to build and integrate the company into Greenfield Consulting Group as a new revenue stream focused on published and ad-hoc consultative advisory reports covering financial services, technology, telecommunications, and consumer goods. Created the Industry’s Most Accessible, Searchable Research Report  Raised $1.5 million dollars from investors to start the business. Hired staff, selected titles and published 12 best practice reports. Successfully integrated the business into Greenfield Consulting that was later sold to Millward Brown.  First in the industry to distribute market advisory reports on CD-ROM and embed video.  First in industry to provide digital tools and models with advisory reports.

General Manager, Financial Services Practices Area

Recruited following the expansion into the United States to develop the financial services practice area for the Americas. General Manager with full profit and loss, responsible for the overall operations of the business unit. Putting Growth into High Gear  Hired 25 staff members consisting of analysts, researchers, consultants, editors, marketing, public relations, and inside and outside sales.  Selected titles for market reports. First year generated 25 titles covering banking, insurance and brokerage topics.  Conducted sales training and grew revenues to $4 million the first year and tripled revenue in the second year.  Expanded consulting practice into different parts of Latin America: Brazil, Argentina, and Mexico. Provided training on research design and a clear focus for engagements that resulted in the growth of ad-hoc consulting practice by $2 million dollars.  Launched a global tracking study focused on the effectiveness of channel communications for financial institutions.  Launched a continuous advisory service for banks and insurance companies. Aligned the research and consulting groups more closely to the products, created a solid marketing plan to convert existing customers to this service and acquire new customers that generated $5 million dollars in additional revenue.
