Business Generalist Graduate

During my time as a Business Generalist Graduate at Transport for Wales, I am undertaking 8 placements over two years within the Commercial Directorate. These range from Sponsorship & Programmes to Contracts to Rolling Stock. Over the course of these two years, I shall also be completing graduate workshops which are aimed at enhancing and providing key skills for a career within Transport for Wales and that will serve us in aspiring to be a future leader. I will be taking professional qualifications during the graduate scheme to provide in-depth knowledge of the areas that would be best suitable within the Commercial Directorate.

The role of the Chief Investment Officer (CIO) is to own and direct the asset selection process, organisation of members with regards to stock pitch events, to monitor current assets in the portfolio and to report monthly portfolio performance to the members, committee and external stakeholders.

I worked as an Entertainment Journalist at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe and Edinburgh International Book Festival reviewing comedies and interviews with authors. This involved writing 350 or 800 words respectively to be written and sent to my editor within a 24 hour period for publication. I was responsible for reviewing performances, thinking on my feet and writing up a detailed article describing events afterwards.
