I produce the MI for the full Insurance Underwriting team at Inigo, working for the two heads of pricing across both first and third party teams. Using and merging both internal and external datasets, I work closely with the actuaries to bring to life their pricing model information, and with the underwriters to enable them to make better pricing decisions. I work closely with the claims team to match publicly available claims datasets with our current policy data to help track claim progress, as well as look at actual vs expected frequencies and severities across the classes of business. I have modelled different attachment point scenarios, as well as portfolio adequacy, the insights of which help the underwriters to spot the most profitable accounts to work on, as well as to drop insufficient industries or other points of analysis.

Data Analyst

As the Company’s only full-time Data Analyst, I moved La Fosse from a manual Excel reporting model to a Power BI reporting suite and created a robust, real-time semantic layer using SQL (SSMS views), with numerous dashboards for each function in the business. Stakeholder reports were provided through Power BI, giving senior management real-time visibility of the business. Recruitment managers had access to sales funnel tracking, sales forecasting including conversion analysis, amongst plenty of other trackers. This vastly improved access to data entirely shifted the business to data-led decision making. My wider role at La Fosse encompassed all aspects of user interaction analysis, technical data-build, as well as on-going discussions with Commercial Business Partners to manage dashboard requirements and to discuss the most effective business analysis. I tracked all the consultant incentives, and worked with the CRM team to make sure that all decisions are made with reporting in mind. I worked tirelessly to define business logic and have built data glossaries and assisted with defining and simplifying logic. I am also responsible for producing the weekly Board Report which is shared directly with the CEO and Founder.
