The International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) is a specialized agency of the United Nations dedicated to eradicating poverty and hunger in rural areas of developing countries. Project: Environmental impact assessment of PASK II soil restoration works using optical and radar satellite imagery (remote sensing) in arid and semi-arid regions of Mauritania. • Extracted, processed, and performed advanced analysis of geospatial data and satellite imagery for environmental assessment. • Developed data processing pipelines in Python to automate the calculation of soil and vegetation indices from optical and radar images. • Processed and calibrated imagery using SNAP, ENVI, and QGIS, integrating data into geospatial databases for project tracking. • Calculated and monitored environmental performance indicators. • Extracted temporal profiles for developed sites. • Analyzed temporal profiles and mapped changes to evaluate the impacts of development projects. • Contributed to geospatial data modeling and the creation of actionable reports for stakeholders.
