Mentored three interns through summer-long continuous improvement projects on multiple production lines. Planned and executed the qualification of a new PCBA supplier for a $2.5 million revenue product line. Composed new procedures to incorporate into existing processes on the production line to decrease scrap. Created new standard rework processes to account for supply chain and material constraints. Drafted installation qualification procedures and reports to utilize new equipment to improve yield by over 100%.

Undergraduate Research Assistant - Living Devices Lab

Researched successful in vitro models for cancer metastasis using a university-funded grant through the Office of Undergraduate Research. Collaborated with biomedical engineering faculty and graduate students to develop protocols for creating multicellular tumor spheroids. Produced microfluidic devices to monitor cell migration for breast cancer tumor spheroids. Analyzed numerical data to determine tumor growth and migration over varying periods of time.

Implemented new, interactive video proficiency training program for operators to save an upwards of $100,000 per year for the site. Collaborated with manufacturing engineers to move batches from hold to increase production yields. Led and owned a Nonconforming Events and Prevention (NCEP) investigation to identify root cause of miscount non-conformance. Organized over 100 documents for a European Union Medical Device Regulation (EU MDR) submission.

Manufacturing Engineering Intern

Constructed assembly and testing procedures for the introduction of a new product line on the manufacturing floor. Executed high-level functional testing on over 20 closed-loop bath units used in production of LVAD systems. Generated engineering change orders (ECO) and updated related documentation and specifications for up to 50 parts. Drafted installation qualification and process performance qualification reports.
