Getting Started with Java for Data

Java is one of the most popular languages for software development, running everything from mobile apps to enterprise software. It has a powerful and mature ecosystem of tools for working with data, so learning to use it is helpful for data practitioners.

In this session, Bogdan, a Senior Software Engineer at DataCamp, takes you through the basics of programming with Java. You'll encounter core techniques like defining variables and flow control, and work through a problem involving data. 

We'll be using the IntelliJ IDEA Community Edition for this code-along. Please download and install it before the session. Alternatively, you can use another IDE or text editor of your choice.
