In the 2026 State of Data & AI Literacy Report, DataCamp partnered with YouGov to survey 500+ enterprise leaders in the US and UK to understand how workforce capability is shaping performance and AI ROI.

Here’s what we found:

• 88% say basic data literacy is essential for day-to-day work; 72% say the same for AI literacy

• Yet nearly 3 in 5 leaders report a data or AI skills gap

• Organizations with mature upskilling programs are 2x more likely to report significant AI ROI

• But fewer than half of leaders surveyed say they provide structured, foundational training at scale
