I've worked with metalloenzymes that are involved in the degradation of pollutants and in the upcycling of lignin under the supervision of Dr. Samuel De Visser. Common tasks involved DFT calculations using QM cluster models with metal centers. I've been able to optimize the speed of output data processing using my skills with Python. This has been a great opportunity to learn and grow before I finish my PhD degree.

PHD Student

I've been working with many hydrolases that are involved in the upgrading process of cellulose and hemicellulose, specially from families GH3 and GH48. Using classical molecular dynamics simulations, I have unravelled mechnistic behaviours these enzymes present in varying conditions, from glycosylation states to substrate structure. I have been under the supervision of Dr. Munir Skaf and have collaborated with many other researchers from Brazil and abroad. Here, too, my python skills have upscaled my routine tasks and improved the way my whole group and I process data.
