Statistical Inference with swirl
Open Course Description
This course contains all of the lessons from swirl's Statistical Inference Course. Learn about probability, confidence intervals, and sampling all within RStudio.
Chapter 1: Introduction to Probability
In four exercises you will briefly be introduced to the basics of statistical inference, the process of drawing conclusions about a population using noisy statistical data where uncertainty must be accounted for. You will review basic ideas of probability, the study of quantifying the likelihood of particular events occurring.
Chapter 2: Expectation and Variance
Four exercises will discuss the usefulness and techniques in characterizing expected values and variance.
Chapter 3: Confidence Intervals
Three exercises will detail the statistical methods for dealing with small datasets, specifically the Student's or Gosset's t distribution and t confidence intervals.
Chapter 4: Power and Sampling
These three exercises will discuss how to calculate and utilize POWER, which is the probability of rejecting the null hypothesis when it is false.
