AI in Education: What do the first AI-native graduates tell us?

Everyone is using AI. Almost no one is fluent.

We surveyed 307 educators and students across roughly 50 countries, alongside platform data on 4.5 million course starts.

• 93% of educators use AI every week. 3% believe their students are fluent
• Their biggest worry isn't cheating. It's over-reliance eroding critical thinking, at 81%
• Formal instruction changes everything: 57% of students who got it feel prepared for what employers expect, against 2% of those who didn't
• 83% of educators have already redesigned their assessments. 5% want to go back

The instruction that works is coming from individual educators, not institutions. The gap between what graduates can do and what the workforce demands is widening.
