Overall Impression This course serves as a solid introduction for someone starting from absolute scratch. It provides a low barrier to entry for the world of SQL, which is great for total beginners. However, there are a few areas where the learning experience could be significantly improved. The "Big Picture" and Logic While the course covers individual clauses, I felt it lacked a cohesive "big picture" perspective. The modules often felt disconnected, making it difficult to understand the underlying logic of when and why to use specific commands in a real-world workflow. For a learner, understanding how to combine these elements into a functional query is just as important as knowing the syntax itself.Challenge vs. Guidance I found that the exercises provided a bit too much "hand-holding." By frequently filling in the blanks or writing large portions of the code for the user, the platform reduces the actual challenge. I would have appreciated more opportunities to write code from scratch to ensure a deeper understanding and better retention of the material.Assessment Stress The timed nature of the certification and knowledge checks felt counterproductive for a beginner. At this stage, the focus should be on processing the logic and understanding the exercise rather than racing against a clock. The time pressure added unnecessary stress that didn't necessarily correlate with learning quality.Summary A decent starting point for getting familiar with SQL, but it would benefit from more complex, interconnected challenges and a greater focus on structural logic rather than just syntax.
