What’s the difference between a free account and the subscription plans?
With our free account, you can only access the first chapter of most of our courses.
Do I need to know anything about data science to get started on DataCamp?
Nope! We have courses for everyone, from beginners to experts. Anyone interested in data science and analytics can use DataCamp to learn new skills.
Do I need special software or hardware?
All of our courses, coding exercises, and projects can be completed from the comfort of your browser, so you won’t need to install any new software or hardware. For the best user experience, we suggest using Chrome, Safari or Firefox. We support IE11 or higher.
How will I be charged?
Once you begin your subscription, you’ll be charged on a recurring monthly or yearly basis, depending on your subscription type, starting from the sign-up date. You can cancel at any time.
Can I pause my account?
You can pause your account if you are a monthly subscriber. In your settings, simply choose how long you'd like to pause your account for. After that time period, your subscription will automatically reactivate and you can continue without losing any progress.
You cannot pause a yearly subscription.
I work in academia. Can I get a discount for my students?
As an academic professional, you can sign your class up for an entire semester for free via DataCamp for the Classroom (Note: only teaching staff can apply. This is not for students, nonprofits or researchers). Read more here.
What are the advantages of a Business account?
In addition to the features outlined in the comparison table above, purchasing a business account has the following benefits:
- Payment via invoice (10+ seats)
- Flexibility to rotate licenses on up to 10% of your users per calendar year; at your sole discretion
- Curriculum consultations and dedicated support team
- Integration with Learning Management System (LMS)
Can I rotate seats between employees?
Our fair use policy allows groups to rotate 10% of their seats per year.(i.e. if an employee leaves the company and you want to re-assign a license to someone new)
How can I add seats to my subscription?
Once you purchase a subscription you have the ability to add seats at any time. Our Customer Success team makes it easy to expand your group!
All seats within the business account will have the same end date to the subscription. You will pay a prorated rate for the new seats based on the start date.(i.e. you add a seat midway into your 1-year contract, instead of charging $300, we would charge $150 for the remaining 6 months)
I already have an individual account, can I still join a business group?
Yes! We are able to transfer your individual account (user data, XP, course completions, etc.) into a group. Once the admin invites you behind their paywall you will have access to the full content library and your progress will remain the same.
Is there a monthly plan for business subscriptions?
No. Our enterprise offering is either annual or a two year subscription.
